Almost ten years ago, back in November of 2009,before Let’s Play House was even a humblebasement-bar and hotel-lobby party, Jacques Renaultquietly released a four-track EP on Hole in the Sky, animprint run by Canyons’ Leo Thomson and RyanGrieve, called Favicon, that was both a snapshot ofNew York City’s glitter-dusted disco-revival haze andthe culmination of the first few years of Renault’scareer through the club circuit. It quickly became acult classic and set in motion much of what followedfor Renault; it added some fuel to the fire that wasRunaway, his project with Marcos Cabral, and helpedready the stage for LPH’s entry.
